Take the exotic lounge sounds of Martin Denny, the pyrotechnics of vocalist Yma Sumac and the rhythmic pulsing of bossa nova, add mint and shake. This is "A Night in the Tropics" –conceived and created by Charles Lazarus featuring music inspired by the sultry melodies and evocative rhythms of the world’s tropical climates – Brazil, Cuba, Hawaii and more. Repertoire includes originals by Lazarus, music from the Buena Vista Social Club and a tribute to bossa nova legend, Antonio Carlos Jobim. |
