Be whoever you want to be. At Stage 2's Miscast Cabaret, that's exactly the idea. Miscast is an evening of Broadway show tunes sung by actors who would never play the role. If you like men in fishnets, if you always pictured Jean Valjean as a woman, if you want to shatter all your expectations...have we got a show for you.

Constellations

Directed by Simon Dean VanVactor-Lee
Mar 29 - 31 @ 7:30pm
Marshall Performing Arts Center - Dudley Experimental Theatre
General admission seating
$9 Adults | $7 Students

The multiverse theory states that there is an infinite number of universes running parallel to ours, and they contain infinite possibilities. Sometimes the differences are small, sometimes not. In Constellations, by Nick Payne, we watch a couple fall in love (or not), work together (or not), and grow apart (or not), all through the lens of possibility. Anything can happen.

The Hook: A Concert Reading

Directed by Luke C. Minske and co-director Tyler Carlson

A deserted cabin in the woods, a group of college students with intimacy issues, and well-timed thunder and lighting...what could go wrong? When an evening of partying turns into a murderous (and farcical) night of terror, can you ever truly know who your friends are? Written by UMD Theatre student Luke Minske, come join us for a one-night-only concert reading of this new play that's sure to inspire terror and put your sides in a stitch.

[title of show]

Directed by Zach Churchill and Derek Schwartz
Musical direction by Isabella Wurm
Choreographed by Colby Schwartzwalter and Quinn LaRayne Vollmers
Oct 19 - 21 @ 7:30pm
Dudley Experimental Theatre
General admission seating
$9 Adults | $7 Students

So basically, it's this musical about these two guys who are writing a musical about writing a musical. Jeff and Hunter enlist their friends to help them write a brand new Broadway musical for the New York Musical Festival, and in the span of 90-minutes, they learn endless lessons about friendship and collaboration. Full of heart and meta-theatricality, Tony-award nominated [title of show] is a gut-busting "love letter to the musical theatre".
